Some
people got caught by surprise when they upgraded to Windows 7 and found
out that their DFW 6.52 apps would not run. The trouble seems to
be that Windows 7 now has a DLL with the same name as one used by DFW
but it's not the same file. This problem is known as "DLL hell"
and has plagued a lot of applications over the years. In the
case of DFW, it's compounded by the fact that the program was built
