November 2009 - DFW6.x does not run under Windows 7
Some people got caught by surprise when they upgraded to Windows 7 and found out that their DFW 6.52 apps would not run.  The trouble seems to be that Windows 7 now has a DLL with the same name as one used by DFW but it's not the same file.  This problem is known as "DLL hell" and has plagued a lot of applications over the years.  In the case of DFW, it's compounded by the fact that the program was built with an old compiler.  More information can be found on the Ffenics/DataEase Forum.

The only solution seems to be to either stick with a pre-Windows 7 OS or upgrade the application.  We recommend the second alternative and suggest you look to Ffenics rather than DFW7.x.  Feel free to contact us for more information and a free evaluation of your application.
